Does romance comes smoothly?
I would say the best romance stories don’t. “The course of true love never did run smooth” by William Shakespeare in his play “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” I like this quote. I find that it relates very well to how I see writing romance novels. A romance story is never direct. If it were, it would be a very dull story. You imagine a guy meets a girl, they fall in love, and that’s it? Where is the story, right? Where is the adventure? Where is the fun? The best stories are the ones that have lots of twists and turns, where you want to know what happens next. I think…

My second book
My second book just came out, and I love this one. Well, I love all my books, but this one is, I think, a great one. Change of heart has many things going for it, but character development is essential to a book like this one. I like it when a character can change over time through the book and that this change is brought out because of love. Someone’s love for another should inspire change within the person. Would you not wish to change and be your best self for the person you love? I know I would, and this book shows how much loving a person can make…

A little snippet
I thought it would be a great idea to post just a little section to my book Foolish love, just so readers out there can see a sample of my word. I believe the story is a great one. It makes me want to write a whole series (which I am with this pirate family). Here is a little piece of the book: Something was not right here; Conrad sensed it. He gave the signal again, and as the man whipped the boy, Conrad noticed the layers of cloth the boy had on. So that was how the boy achieved feeling no pain. He was going to rectify it. He…

Romance?
What is romance? Is it candlelight dinners? Chocolates and roses? Special places? Special events? To me, romance is none of those things. To me, romance is moments. The moments you have that you have a certain connection that is romance. These moments can be made from laughs to arguments to the gifts you get or places you go, and it is the connection we get when in these moments that make romance bloom if we allow it. I like to keep this in mind when I write my romance books. Because in a romance novel, the journey, the reason for two people to be together is so much more important…

Me as a writer
I love romance in all its forms and love to write romance books. Writing romance is to me like a romance with words. It takes grace and passion for putting such emotion in word form. We all know how a romance novel ends, usually with the two people ending up together, but what I love is the journey. Love is a journey, and it takes you through many twists and turns before two people can see that love is at the end of this journey.
