• Cookies

My family has this tradition of baking every Saturday from mid-November to before Christmas. We bake pies and many, many Christmas cookies. The smells and the fellowship are fun and a beautiful tradition. I have come to love this tradition.  It often makes me wonder about the romance behind cookies. We do not always think making cookies could be a romantic activity with your partner. Baking cookies with your partner, the touching and playfulness that could occur, is a lovely way of connecting with someone. Even if you do not end up throwing flour around or on the floor kissing, you can still create a connection by baking or cooking…

  • November

November, November, what can I say about this month. Well, in many ways, it is the month that preludes Christmas month. In some countries also the thanksgiving month. However, I see the month in the transitional season from fall to winter. It is where it gets colder, but not so cold we cannot go outside. It is in the month that snow starts falling and where the area that I live in, we are preparing for the best time of year. The Christmas season. It is one of my favorite times of the year. The smells, the movies, the fun, and the romance. I wait all year to have this…

  • Halloween

Last week I forgot my blob, not because I did not wish to do it, but because of Halloween and my children being quite excited and having so much to do. So I apologize for skipping a blog. To think about it, Halloween is not really a holiday that I care for too much because it is all about scaring people. And I am all about love. However, in even the worst moments, I can see that there can be some fun and romance in it. And with this in mind, I can think up one scenario that can make a very romantic setting. That is when two people meet…

  • The Moment

When it comes to romance, one of the best moments in any romance novel is that moment of the declaration of love. Whether it be offhandedly said or said in a rage or if it was planned in a romantic setting, that moment is one of the reasons I know I read romance novels and write them. I love coming up with unique and exciting yet realistic ways for the moment to happen in a book.  Although in real life, sometimes it happens on the spur of the moment. In life that moment is a huge moment between two people. And sometimes it comes out in ways that make it…

  • Sharing the season of fall

I love the fall. I find it very inspiring in my writing. Because we can do so many things in the fall. I love this fall season, the holidays, and the spices. The air is crisp, and fun outdoor activities, like apple picking, comes to mind. The smells of everyone cooking all the fall foods. I love the fall.  So much to this time of year, as leaves turn colors and we end an old year. This is the time of year to see the beauty that the world has to offer to us. This is the time to enjoy what we have, to look at what the year has…

  • It’s Fall

As I look outside today, I see the beauty of the fall season. I love the fall and how romantic it can be to walk under colorful trees. All the bright reds, yellows, oranges, the smells and spices of this time of year. Knowing that Halloween and Christmas are on their way. For me, this is my favorite season and the most romantic time of year. Where it is not too cold outside for walks and outside activities. Yet chilly enough at night to want to cuddle up against your love with hot cocoa and a blanket.  Just taking a moment Where I live, we celebrate Thanksgiving. As much as…

  • My Newest Novel

In the next couple of hours to days, I have another book that will be accessible for purchase for those who are interested. I know I took a long break in not writing, but I am back and will concentrate on my books and doing some new and exciting things. I hope you enjoy my latest addition to the Olivia Shepard collection. Here is a little teaser to my newest book, Golden Beauty. After a great tragedy, Lady Annabel and her sister were left with no parents and under the care of an evil man. After two years of suffering, they manage to escape, and Annabel is dead set on…

  • My Love of Writing

I am currently working on my next book, Simply You. I find it fun and interesting when I write a book, and I start with one idea in mind, but it changes as my book progresses. I love how my characters develop as I write. Makes my characters seem like they could have been real. Sometimes an evil character that I have imagined would end up one way or another, tends to learn and change and, in the end, is not the genuine bad guy of the story. I love writing because there is no end to the possibilities of what could happen. Whether one character is a bad guy…

  • Just a Thought

In my blogs, I talk a lot about love, from different sides of love to romance and many more things. I have always tried to inspire and create a welcoming place for anyone to read about love, all kinds of love. I am an author who writes about love all the time, and even though these are like fairy tales, I would like to think that love, like my books or any romance author’s book, could in some form come true. Love is love. It may not always be grand, but it can get complicated and come in many different forms. But love is something we share. One thing I…

  • Letting go and Love

I think the hardest thing a person does in their life is learn to let go of something that they love. As much as I am an advocate of love and that love can break through walls and endure anything. One part of love that is not always shared is recognizing that the love is not the right fit or not shared and learning to let go. Letting can be challenging, for why would a person love someone so much and it not be meant to be. Well, sometimes that happens. Sometimes we fall in love with the wrong person, and that is when we must discipline ourselves to love…
