When The Going Gets Rough

When shit hits the fan, you really learn who is there for you and who isn’t. It can be challenging when you are confronted with a problem, and you expect certain people to be there for you. This is where you learn who actually cares about you and who is only there when things are good. And the most interesting is when it is your partner who doesn’t show up for you. That can be a very rough time because you love them and they are supposed to love you. So when they don’t show up or even indicate that they care, this is something you should evaluate and isn’t something you should accept. I’ve been in a relationship where my partner couldn’t care less if I lived or died. Should have been a red flag back then, but now I know better. And it is really something when your partner cares so much that even though they are miles away from you, they are still checking up on you and trying to support you as best as they can. This is what love is all about. Caring, not just when things are easy, but being there even when things are hard.
