That Famous Old Saying
“Actions speak louder than words.”
Many people use that famous old saying to see how someone feels about them. It is a policy that can help when dealing with love. I think it can only help if we truly see what another person does for us and what we do for them. This famous saying makes me think of love languages. How we show love and how we want to receive it differs per person. So yes, actions may speak louder than words, yet sometimes words have more meanings than actions.
I think it depends on the scenario. If you are a person who likes to see the actions of how someone cares about them, then their importance will be in how the person behaves with them. Yet if you like to hear the words, then actions may not speak to you as much as words do.
For me, I like to look at the whole picture. Sometimes it can be hard to say the words to someone we care about, and sometimes it can come easily. And with some people, words are faked. Yet I find that looking at both actions and words can give you a better picture of how someone feels about you. For instance, if a person only wants to see you when it is convenient to them and proclaims they love you, their behavior does not align with their words. And this could be in verse as well. A person could go to the end of the world with you, save you from danger, and never be able to proclaim how they feel about you.
When it comes to this famous saying, it is to remind people to not only believe what is said but also look at their behavior toward you. This is the only way to know the truth about someone and their feelings.
When it comes to love, when we genuinely love someone, our actions will reflect this feeling. We can hide all our emotions and words, but we cannot hide how we act. When in love, we act differently because we care. We cannot want but the best for our partners and want to bring them peace within their hearts and mind. This is what love does, which is always reflected in our actions. So when it comes to this famous old saying, “actions speak louder than words,” in many ways, they do. Our actions show the world how much we care or do not.
