Heaven on Earth

Sometimes I wonder how a person can find a little bit of heaven here on earth. And then I think of my loved ones, the people I care most about. I think of the times, both good and bad, and it makes me realize how lucky I am. But one thing that I do find is that when you are with your partner, your love of your life, when you are just lying there in their arms sleeping, that is heaven on earth. That feeling of security of caring, when you have your person beside you. No talking, no electronics, no distractions, just you and your partner in each other’s arms, in love, now that is the best that this earth can offer us. It is where we can rest from all the chaos of this world, knowing that there is someone there and you are not alone. It is in the way your fingers link with your partner’s, how your breathing is in sync, or the same rhythm. It is not just sleep we get, but the calmness before any storm. The world is full of ups and downs, challenges and chaos, yet we can find that secure calmness when we are next to our person and just lie there, that is the closest we can get to heaven on earth.
