Hit by Love
“There is never a time or place for true love. It happens accidentally, in a heartbeat, in a single flashing, throbbing moment.”
– Sarah Dessen
One thing that I use a lot in my writing is that love can come out of nowhere and hit the character like a ton of bricks. This makes writing romance so fun because you can see how fast love can come to two characters as a writer or reader. It happens out of the blue and often is not looked for. In a world where we force love by meeting online and then in-person to see if there is chemistry, what we do not see much anymore is the accidentally meeting and the love that can happen. I believe that love can come in many ways, but one way that is so fun to read is when it is not wanted yet. Take my book, foolish love. Samatha never wanted to fall in love, yet it comes her way even without searching it out.
I love reading and writing romance because there is never the same journey for two people to take. Even though I know how it will end, the two people together, I love the journey, and the fun in reading when two people are not looking for love yet are hit by it. This quote is excellent because it describes what sometimes happens between two people. Love can find you even if you are not looking for it. Love can come even in the worst situations. Love can come by accident, although I believe it can also come when caused. Love can hit you just like it can grow slowly, and this is what makes love fun to read and write and what makes love worth having in our lives.
